As a member of the Dogington Post team since 2012, Dr. Chris Smith is a practicing veterinarian that has been answering questions submitted by the site’s readers about their own dog’s health and wellness. In his training seminar, Dr. Chris will address the most common training questions he is asked by dog parents in his veterinary practice and how training can affect your dog’s health. You won’t want to miss this!

Nick is a former US Marine Combat Veteran and former US Secret Service.  He has worked with and taught some of the top names in dog training! The owner of Off-Leash K9 Training, Nick specializes in basic/advanced obedience, detection/nosework, and personal protection training.

4/17: Dianne Sarasin 2pm EST
Dianne Sarasin, author of the PeePress, is a Certified Behavior therapist and Master Trainer. Her mission is to educate owners to see things from a dog’s perspective rather than a human’s perspective. Dianne will discuss “The Native Language of the Domestic Dog”.

4/19: Ian Dunbar 4pm EST
Veterinarian, animal behaviorist, and dog trainer, Dr. Ian Dunbar has been inducted into the Dog Fancy Hall of Fame. Currently, Dr. Dunbar is President of the APDT Foundation, TopDog (CEO) of the Center for Applied Animal Behavior and Scientific Director for dogstardaily.com. He will discuss owner-friendly and dog-friendly training.

4/22: Paul Owens 4pm EST
Paul Owens is “The Original Dog Whisperer”. He began training dogs in 1972.  For over 40 years, he has been one of the leading proponents of positive, nonviolent animal training in the world. Paul‘s specialty is in the evaluation and behavior modification of aggressive dogs and he is frequently consulted and referred by veterinarians.  His public service work includes bite prevention programs for children and monthly dog training seminars at area Humane Societies and shelters.  Paul has appeared on numerous radio and television programs, including PBS’s Pets Part of the Family and the nationally syndicated Pet Files. His articles and interviews have appeared in several local and national magazines, including Self, Animal Wellness Magazine, Bark magazine, The Pet Press, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, LA Parent, The Burbank Leader, The Whole Dog Journal, The Yoga Journal, Alaskan Airlines Magazine and many others.

4/23: Tony Knight 4pm EST
Tony Knight is the son of Jan Fennell, the original Dog Listener and for the last fifteen years has been helping, directly and indirectly, tens of thousands of dog owners all over the world, by showing them how to employ Jan Fennell’s method- Amichien® Bonding. Tony works hard at getting the Amichien® message “out there”- and that message is- how to get the very best out of your relationship with your dog, without having to resort to gizmos, gadgets, violence or enforced dominance (we are, after all, supposed to be dog lovers!).

4/24: Victoria Stilwell 5pm EST
Victoria Stilwell is a world-renowned dog trainer best known as the star of the international hit TV series It’s Me or the Dog. A passionate advocate for positive reinforcement dog training methods, Stilwell is the Editor-in-Chief of Positively.com which features the world’s leading veterinary behaviorists, dog trainers and behavioral scientists on her blog.  She is a vocal opponent of punitive, dominance-based training techniques which often result in ‘quick fixes’ but ultimately cause more long-term harm than good while damaging the owner-dog relationship.

4/25: Camilla Gray-Nelson 4pm EST
The “Dog Talk Diva”, Camilla Gray-Nelson coaches, cajoles and commands her audience, teaching important life lessons on leadership and personal empowerment in an unlikely way—through the process of dog training. Her book, Lipstick and the Leash: Dog Training a Woman’s Way received high praise and top honors from the Dog Writer’s Association.

4/25: Steve Reid 4pm EST
Steve Reid is the owner of S.R. Dog Training, LLC. He has a mission of “Changing the World for Dogs”. Steve uses his love for animals and his experience as a teacher to re-educate both dog and owner. His goal is to show the world that archaic training methods that use harsh corrections are not necessary- and that there is a more effective, safe, and fair style of dog training to use.  This will help dog and owner to live a happy life together without all the stress, frustration and worry that accompany so many dog owning families.
